What is your data telling you about your students and school community?
While schools are realising that there is tremendous potential in their data to help them understand what is actually going on, many don’t know how to make sense of it, and then, how to effectively communicate what it’s telling them and use it to inform their teaching practice.
Without these skills, learners may not be getting the most tailored and targeted teaching, which means that schools are missing a huge opportunity to know their learners and community better.
I work with schools to:
Access and understand the data that they have;
Co-construct school data plans and/or school improvement plans, and track achievement against those plans;
Increase the understanding and ability to staff to gather and use data, through professional development and/or coaching sessions.

The free data diagnostic has been completed by almost 7000 educators across Australia. It assesses skills in the areas of data literacy, data visualisation, and data storytelling.
Upon completion, you will receive a free individual PDF report.
School-wide summary report option
This is as easy as having all of your staff complete the data diagnostic and selecting one of the options below to order your de-identified school summary report.
If you wish to to have them take it right now, and you don’t already have a code from us, please create your own code (up to 6 letters/numbers) and share it with Shona. Having your staff enter a code on the first page of the data diagnostic survey allows us to collate their results more quickly in order to prepare your summary report.
Ready to order your report? You can purchase it here or email shona@selenafisk.com if you would prefer to pay by invoice. Shona will then be in touch to provide you with a code, discuss what date you’re looking to complete the survey, and answer any questions you may have.
Once your staff have completed the survey and we have received your payment, we will prepare your report and send it over within 5 business days.

Data storytelling for educators online course
This online course is jam-packed full of resources and learning in the three key elements of using data in schools: data literacy, data visualisation, and data storytelling.
Learning occurs through engagement with short videos, links to online resources, and through readings.
Each participant will receive lifetime access to the content on the 'Data Storytelling for Educators' course as well as a certificate of completion for 8 hours of professional learning.
